The Penn Fathom Star Drag reels, with the revolutionary Live Spindle design, are
the most castable reels in the market place. The improved configuration allows
the Fathom spool to spin independently of the spindle and pinion gear, which
significantly reduces friction experienced from the extreme acceleration of the
spool when casting. Other reels using a ''fixed spindle'' design slow the
rotation of the spool and reduce casting distance. Additionally the Live Spindle
on Fathom reels improves the retrieve of the reel because the spindle and pinion
do not need to turn relative to each other during heavy loads, unlike a ''fixed
spindle'' reels that result in a difficult retrieve and erratic drag.

PENN BATTLE SPINNING REELS...Built to Win the War Between Man and Fish...
Sometimes a little skirmish breaks out and the angler simply reels in the
fish. But other times, it’s an all out war and the winner of the clash is not
determined till the very end. The new Penn Battle spinning reel gives the angler
the advantage, producing catches instead of just hook ups.
The Battle spinning reels full metal one-piece body and sideplate maintain
precise gear alignment under heavy loads. And on the inside are more fishing
fighting features like the Battle reels Technobalanced™ rotor that provides a
smooth retrieve and won’t compress under load.
The Penn series of Battle spinning reels utilize six shielded stainless steel
ball bearings plus an anti-reverse bearing to add to the performance. The
Battle's main shaft is stainless steel for added corrosion protection and
durability.
Beneath the machined, anodized aluminum spool are Penn Reels HT-100™ drag
washers that have a wide adjustment range and stay calm, cool and collected in
the heat of battle. No need for a mono backing with the Battle spinning reel
spool, it is equipped with a superline spool band to keep braids from slipping.
And to keep a secure grip on the handle, the Penn Battle has an oversized soft
touch knob.
Seven models of the new Penn Battle reel are available, from the 2000 to the
8000. Reel weights range from the 9.6-ounce Battle BTL2000 to 29.2 on the Battle
BTL8000. Line retrieves range from 29 inches per handle revolution on the Battle
BTL2000 to 41 inches on the Battle BTL8000 with max drags of 7 to 25 pounds,
depending on model.
Large line capacities are available on the Battle spinning reel spool, from
260 yards of 4-pound test monofilament or 260 yards of 8-pound braid on the
Battle 2000 to 390 yards of 20-pound mono or 550 yards of 50-pound braid on the
Battle 8000.

Penn Torque Jigging Rods are designed using a super thin yet strong rod blank that provides incredible strength necessary when pulling up large tuna, snapper, stripers, kingfish and grouper. A Penn Torque Jigging Rod is strengthened by an additional layer of graphite. With all the strength the Torque rods possess, they are still light enough for long-term jigging action. All Penn Torque Jigging Rods are finished with PacBay stainless steel guides with deep-pressed titanium coated inserts for durability against all saltwater conditions. A Torque Jigging Rod has triangular shaped EVA foam handles which are easy to hold and keep the rod from turning or slipping when fighting a fish. The EVA foam rear grip features flat sides for added comfort when holding the Torque Rod under your arm.

PENN TUNA STICK RODS
Penn Tuna Sticks have been a staple in the Stand-up Big Game Fishing rod market, but we threw a curve ball this year and changed the model numbers. Penn Tuna Stick blanks and components still have the same tapers and quality; but in an effort to simplify the model designations, we changed the model numbers fro all of the Penn Tuna Sticks.
The Penn Tuna Stick modified parabolic taper is capable of providing leverage for anglers strapped into the fighting chair, while the fast-tip sections of Penn Tuna Sticks provide Stand-up anglers the recovery power necessary when hooked into large pelagics.
